Reception for Research Experience for Undergraduates program

CAES is hosting a reception to celebrate the first cohort of the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) — Advanced Manufacturing for a Sustainable Energy Future. The 10 students participating in the program this summer will present posters illustrating their projects and conduct lightning talks on their work at the reception, which will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on July 28 at CAES and is open to all INL employees and students and faculty from the CAES universities. Members of INL’s senior leadership team will be on hand, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
Funded by the National Science Foundation, this 10-week CAES REU program has allowed the students to work on projects related to advanced manufacturing in collaboration with university faculty and INL researchers. Their projects leverage new capabilities in the CAES facility, including a state-of-the-art transmission electron microscope and a suite of instruments for advanced manufacturing of sensors and instrumentation for extreme environments.
