Idaho State University’s Mackenzie Gorham will discuss the Nuclear Operations Technology Program at ISU and her trip to Chernobyl in fall 2020 at Codebreaker

Mackenzie Gorham, coordinator and instructor for the Nuclear Operations Technology Program at Idaho State University, will discuss a recent trip she led to the Chernobyl nuclear plant and the lessons her students learned gleaned from the excursion at the CAES Codebreaker webinar at 3:30pm MST on June 10. Gorham's presentation, Safety share: From Pocatello to Pripyat , will provide an overview of the fall 2020 trip she led to the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine, which has been abandoned since an accident in its Reactor No. 4 in 1986, and its role in the training and education of her students as they embark upon careers in nuclear energy. The CAES Codebreaker webinar takes place on the first Thursday of the month at 3:30pm. It provides a forum for students and researchers to address their work, communicate opportunities and challenges to a receptive audience, and increase dialogue among CAES affiliates.
