Codebreaker: Using 3D visualization to enhance training

INL visualization researcher Xingyue Yang will discuss 3D visualization technologies at the CAES Codebreaker webinar on May 4 at 3:30 p.m.
Yang, whose research is conducted primarily in the Applied Visualization Laboratory at CAES, will discuss the ways in which 3D visualization can be applied in a variety of fields, particularly virtual training. She will provide an overview of two projects under way at CAES that focus on virtual safety training integrated with 3D visualization technologies: a collaborative project between INL and the College of Eastern Idaho that allows students to virtually perform radiation and contamination surveys remotely and a project that allows INL employees to perform hazards identification training remotely.
CAES’ monthly Codebreaker webinar provides a forum for researchers and students from the CAES universities to address their work, communicate opportunities and challenges to a receptive audience, and increase dialogue among CAES affiliates.
