Codebreaker: Aging Infrastructure to Targeted Violence

Some disasters can be prevented through intelligence and operational actions to deter bad actors or through mitigation efforts to limit damages from natural hazards. Despite all efforts to prevent emergencies, disruptions can occur at a moment’s notice. The ability of organizations and communities to respond and recover quickly from incidents is maximized when capabilities are leveraged by the whole community. Laurie Holien, associate professor and director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Idaho State University will discuss the core competencies needed to protect people and our critical systems and restore them to normal operations.
