Idaho State University (ISU) and CAES will host a presentation by Dr. Jungin Choi, a professor at Gachon University in South Korea. Choi will discuss small modular reactor and Smart Net Zero City (SSNC) research activities in South Korea. His seminar will address challenges and solutions for Net Zero City, a case study of Busan EcoDetaCity in South Korea and the application of SSNC to Neom, a city in Saudi Arabia designed to be powered by natural resources.

Dr. Jungin Choi Professor, Department of Smart City and Energy, Gachon University. He is a global thought leader in Smart Energy Future for Climate Change. He is now researching on Application of Small Modular Reactor to Smart Cities. He is also involved in projects with KHNP(Korean Utility) for a new concept of Netzero City combined renewables with SMR, called SSNC. He had been researching in DOE project at UCLA as a visiting Professor, for Distributed Energy Resource such as Solar and Storage and also in aggregation of Energy Efficiency and Demand Response in California. He had been a Professor in Digital Convergence at Seoul National University. Also, he had been a technical chair of International XML standardization organization. He received BS and MS from Seoul National University, Korea, and He received in Nuclear Engineering, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) MA, US.
