Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

The National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program provides ten undergraduate students from universities across the nation an opportunity to work alongside Idaho university faculty and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) researchers. During the 10-week program held at the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) in Idaho Falls, students will complete projects related to advanced manufacturing. At the end of the program, they will share their work with an active research community, co-author publications and present their research findings.

Applications for the 2024 REU Program are now closed.

“When you are working with the mentors, you get the best knowledge from the best minds on the subject you’re studying. It’s good to learn how to look for knowledge on scientific journals and research papers and stuff but when you can actually ask them a question and they can [I guess in a good sense] dumb it down for you and then kind of build on that. It makes it understanding really easy.”
